Know when your flight may get bumpy. Before you board.

Calmaboard reads the weather forecast along your route and tells you, in plain words, when bumps (turbulence) are more likely, in minutes after take-off.

Example

Some light bumps possible.

  • Climb: not covered by this forecast.
  • Cruise: most likely smooth, except:
  • around 2h10–2h35 after take-off: light bumps possible.
  • Descent: not covered by this forecast.

Keep your seatbelt fastened whenever you're seated.

Estimate based on weather forecasts, not a safety tool. Always follow the crew's instructions.

The worst part is not knowing.

You check the weather at both airports. You read the forums. You board, and you still wonder about every cloud.

Calmaboard looks where the airport screens don't: at the winds along your route, at cruising height, for the whole cruise.

Three moments before your flight.

  1. Today

    Add your flight

The flight number and date, or the two airports and the times printed on your ticket.

  2. 2 days before

    Your forecast is ready

A notification tells you. One line for the whole flight, then the cruise, stretch by stretch, in the order you'll fly it.

  3. Before you leave

    Read the update

An updated forecast a few hours before departure, or the evening before for early flights. It stays on your phone, so you can read it again in the air.

Tested before we built the app.

We checked our estimate against a year of reports from real flights, October 2025 to September 2026, before writing a line of the app.

North America336,360 pilot reports

Pilots report the bumps they meet, or a smooth ride. We took the reports made at cruising height and compared clear bumps with smooth rides. Light bumps were left out of this score.

Take one bumpy report and one smooth report from the same place: about 2 times in 3, our estimate was higher where the bumps were.

Europe and the MediterraneanBumps measured on board

Some airliners measure the bumps they fly through. We compared our estimate with those measurements over the same year.

We'll share these results soon.

Is Calmaboard a safety tool?

No. It is an estimate based on weather forecasts. Keep your seatbelt fastened whenever you're seated, and always follow the crew's instructions.

Can it promise me a smooth flight?

No one can. Calmaboard says “most likely” or “possible”, never “guaranteed”.

Will it cure my fear of flying?

It doesn't treat anything. It gives you plain information about your own flight, so you're not left guessing.

Which flights does it cover?

Airline flights on most routes. It looks at bumps caused by winds at cruising height, not at storms. Climb and descent are not covered, and routes over the polar regions get no forecast. We tested it over North America, Europe and the Mediterranean.

How much will it cost?

The one-line forecast will be free. The cruise timeline will be paid; we'll give the price at launch.

When can I get it?

Soon, on iPhone and Android. We're building it now.

Board knowing what to expect.
